Prime Minister Kevin Rudd drops f-bomb - Kruddy's at it again!

This is really for our Aussie members on here, but if you're from anywhere else feel free to discuss.

When it comes to a slip of the tongue, Kevin Rudd knows best.
He's not been Australian PM for long and already he has...

- Sworn at a flight attendant for giving him the wrong sandwhich
- Dropped the S-bomb on national television.
- Now he's droped the F-bomb when sentators complain over budget cuts on photocopying.

My question is this;

Do you think that it is acceptable for a nation leader to use foul language?

Discuss, debate. Do what you guys do best, just be understanding of peoples opinions.

Personally, I really don't care if anyone uses foul language, as actually I don't even believe in foul language... the interpretation of the word, perhaps, and of course the intention behind the word - those can be foul. A slip of the tongue without much of actual hate or meaning behind it, just an 'oh, *%^$!' or whatever, I don't think there's any harm in that. However, it's true that it's not what's expected of someone such as a Prime Minister, and there are plenty of families out there who would be highly offended.

On another note, I don't believe for a minute the Apology Speech came from his heart.

I mean he's a bit... two-faced...

One minute he sitting in church like he claims he does every Sunday even when he's away overseas...
(Dont get me started on how much he spends on those trips)
The next he's swearing his head off at innocent flight attendants.
It makes not sense to me.

I actually do have a problem with politicians behaving innopropriately, especially the prime minister, because, he's the country's spokeperson. I personally believe that there's a higher standard expected if your going to be the leader of a nation. Cause if you act like any other joe-blow on the street people are going to step-up and say, "I can do a better job then you" Infact, im only 16 years only and I think I could do a better job. I also think he, and other people need to be aware of cause and effect. Being our nation's representitve, if he behaves like this, soon the rest of the world is going to think that is what Australians are like OR expect us to be worse then that, and personally, I'd be offended if somone thought that of me. I am living proof that a person can break the habbit of swearing. I used to swear more then most people, but then I decided that it simply wasn't necessary, and it shows a lack of intellegence if you cant think of a better word to use since the english language has 1000s of them. So basically, Kevin Rudd, is showing that Australians are, unintelligent, foul-mouthed, rude indiviudals, and I really dont appreciated. Another group he belongs to is the Christian group, however his behavior is simply showing the exact opposite. So then people gain the negitive opinion on other members for them group that Christians are nothing more than Hypocrites. I dont believe I would react so badly if it was once, but THREE times and I think something needs to be said. I think that Kevin Rudd really needs to step up and take his job more seriously. Because his actions affect millions of people, not just himself.

with politics its "the best liar wins" that is a simple fact even with business... its all about how good of a liar you are (not all the time but like over 90%) so this Prime minister guy he just instead of lying and pretending he's good like all the others do he is just letting out what's in his heart. In effect he is no better or worse (morally) then any other Prime Ministers he just isn't as good liar. Which means people will hate him because he isn't lying and pretending his is a that-nice-guy instead he shows us he got lots of hate in him.

Now I am not saying I agree with him. Not at all I'm just saying you should have seen through his lies to start with and NOT VOTED for such an idiot and someone so poor at lying...

While I think lying is wrong and hate lying and don't lie myself and think you shouldn't vote for liars... I'm saying if you don't want them to swear vote for a liar...

I think I was fairly on topic though I think it is UNACCEPTABLE for a PRIME MINISTER to use such language... I don't blame him I just sayin... He shouldn't... Stated my reasons above.

TO be quite honest, people use foul language, it's a nature of life. However, for a nation leader to use the F-bomb, there must have been a good reason. Having said that, i do not think that leaders such as Rudd should use foul language. For one he is a leader, meaning he is supposed to represent his nation with the greatest of attitude. Also a quote that i learned to go by.

"Attitude Reflects Leadership"

that quote is very much true, because a leader is suppose to have the attitude to represent his country/nation in any way he/she sees fit. however, using foul language is not a good way of going about it. so, i say using foul language is okay for some leaders, but if they make it a hobby of theirs, then they don't deserve to represent that nation/country they are the leader of.

True, but even if he does represent Australia, doesn;t he have the right to express his emotions in any form he desires, even if it is in the form of foul language?

Well certainly....
but swearing is a habbit.
And not a good one when it comes to being a leader.
It's like saying "Should we let our little children pick their noses all their life?"
"Should we let people spit in front of others?"
"Smoking is okay because it's something people are addicted to it"

Isn't that just making excuses?

If we let Leaders do whatever they want then people will start standing up going "If no one respects you then we aren't going to listen to you."
Then that equals total chaos amongst a nation. You need to repect a person who runs a country, acting like average Joe doesn't cut it.

But yea I do it like at night time or when no-one sees it so its perfectly fine i think xD and it makes your nostrils go really big and I can make the "thingy forgot word" like a rabbit xD!

But Prime Ministers shouldn't pick their noses I don't think...

Because majority of society sees it as... well... just gross...
However because a large population swear, they deem it acceptable.
Doesn't make it more right.

Im not from Australia but I'll say what i'll say:

I don't really see the point of people swear (yet i do it myself occasionally). But for a Prime Minister-who is supposed to be a 'role model' to the people of the nation- it seems really unappropriate. Whoever said that swearing is part of nature, I have to partly agree on it. It depends on how we were raised, Like, If your family swears alot when you weer a kid, you'll pick it up and use it on your future life. so Yeah.
