But in one of the episodes, Hanyuu meets up with Tomitake and Hanyuu, and that's when the Yamainu is fully explained as well as the big deal behind Hinamizawa Syndrome.
I think it's in episode 19.

At this rate, I do suggest that you watch Rei. It's 6 episodes, I think, and hilarious. But like I said, a lot of it was fanservice.

What was the point of Miyo killing Rika even though she can't become a God?

Rika goes a little crazy and the entire timeline is all screwed up because of Hanyuu's power and how it malfunctioned or something.
People get hurt.
Not killed. XD

And I don't think Miyo wanted to become a God, but rather a really respectable woman since her grandfather's theories were put to shame.

Irie and Tomitake had no idea that Takano was crazy.
So she told Tomitake when they were ... doing it... one night and he was like "I'MA STOP YOU" and she was like "Nope" so she injected him with the syndrome and then he died. >.>

And in the third season, there's like that AU where Keiichi never comes in and Rika's parents aren't dead and Satoshi's still alive. ._.

O.O WHats this i see, a thread revival I just started watching this the other day, and already finished it now xD OMG it was... rather shockking through the first season lol. But im glad they finally explained it. at first i thought it was just who killed who through the first season, til Keiichi started to remember himself Killing Mion and Rena ;~;
It's such a genius storyline though. The creater needs an award for it

I'm glad that you liked it, it's my personal favorite aside from Bleach.

Apparently Umineko is some sort of a sequel. Perhaps a different thread for that would be better since the two universes are so different. x_x
