[b]mental relaxation technique
lie on your back, arms to your sides, palms up. legs straight out and feet together. do this with the lights off. breath only through your nose. breath into your stomach, not into you chest. breath slowly and take as deep breaths as possible and let it out slowly. when you inhale, tense a muscle. hold it as long as you can, including your breath, and then let it relax as you exhale. do this from your head to your feet, every muscle. Imagine the stress seeping out of your muscles as you tense them and then disappearing through the floor as you release them.
This should take under 5 minutes, and is best done in complete silence, having someone instruct you on how to do it as you do it, or with light music in the background.
This, just the breathing and holding as long as you can, also helps Hic-ups. (though inhale more even when you think you cant and it works better)
